Thank you all for attending the 5th Annual Austin Funky Chicken Coop Tour! We had about 1,000 attendees and it was a huge success!

One of the long-term goals here at BuzzQuack is to get a breeding program in place. Right now, we are experimenting with Swedish Flower Hens and Australian Spotted ducks.
We will likely abandon the Swedish Flower Hen project because keeping a rooster in the city is too difficult. But, we have high hopes for the Australian Spotted duck project. We’ll talk more about Aussies at a later date. Today, we want to talk about breeding for the color blue, which is one of three Aussie colors. Continue reading Blue Genes
I don’t know what the other hens were thinking, but apparently there’s a competition going on between the hens. So, exactly one day after the large egg was laid (it was 7.5 cm tall by 4.5 cm wide and 3.8 ounces) one of the hens deposited the tinsiest egg ever. Continue reading BuzzQuack’s Smallest Egg!
